Bill Deng is founder and chief executive officer of XTransfer. A graduate of Fudan University, he has over 10 years’ experience in global payment. He joined Visa International in 2007 as a management trainee and worked there for three years. In 2010, he joined China’s largest payment and fintech company Ant Financial and served a seven-year stint, where he led teams in crossing the “Zero to One” milestone in the sphere of cross-border payment.
He is very familiar with exporting manufacturers from China, understanding their needs for financial services, the current solutions available as well as the status quo regarding financial service providers.
He has deep insights into cross-border B2B payment solutions and new fintech services in overseas markets, including AML risk management, foreign exchange and credit services.
Bill founded XTransfer in May 2017 and helped it complete its Series C1 round of financing in October 2020. The firm secured its Series B round worth $15 million in October 2019 and raised $10 million from its Series A round in October 2018. It received $5 million from its angel round in July 2018.
Under Bill’s stewardship, XTransfer set up branches and acquired payment licenses in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan and Singapore, among other locations. Of the company’s 400-plus staff, more than a third are working in the AML unit.
